Jason Constable receives Highly Commended in Apprentice of the Year
ETU National has awarded Jason a Highly Commended in the Apprentice of the Year awards for 2021.
Jason has been an active ETU Youth Crew member for the past few years, and a staunch activist. Organiser Luke Ellis, who submitted a reference with Jason's nomination for the award recalls one instance that paints an accurate picture of Jason, describing one late night at the makeshift refugee prison at Kangaroo Point, where actions were taking place, calling for a group of refugees to be granted asylum in Australia.
Luke described sitting out in the cold with Jason at Kangaroo Point one night. At the time, Jason was coming up to his block exams for his qualification, and he was studying while taking part in the important action fighting for refugee rights. Luke says that this story sums Jason up well, illustrating his dedication to his trade and social activism.
Congratulations Jason!
